Ariel Blair has been announced as the head softball coach at Pebble Hills Dec, 8. This is her first-year as a head coach. Recently, Blair was an assistant coach at Eastwood High School. Blair is looking to make an impact from the start.
Blair has a very athletic background and has been in sports since she was young. A former softball player for UTEP.
“My parents actually put me in the sport when I was three years old and since then, yeah, I just fell in love with the sport and I never stopped playing, “ Blair said. “It was good. I was happy that I was able to stay home and represent my hometown and play for my hometown college,” Blair said. “It was a great experience being able to have my family at all the games and play division one softball at the highest level.”
Blair who is also an advocate for girl sports, has played flag football and is looking to guide the softball team to the playoffs.
“So I’d say, I have learned a lot through my experiences playing in high school and playing in college,” Blair said. “There’s just things that I’m able to teach the girls because I’ve been through it. So just like the mental toughness side of the game, the fundamentals is the skills of the sport.”
Varsity softball is currently 3-1 and is fresh off a 12-1 win against the Burges Mustangs.
