We have one objective, to find the best coffee shop in El Paso.

We compiled a list of recommendations, so on Sept. 20, our first stop was Dutch Bros Coffee. As coffee enthusiasts and senior students, we rely heavily on coffee throughout the day, whether it’s to take notes in Ms. Vargas’s Astronomy class, writing college essays, before a shift at Bahama Buck’s, or for pure enjoyment.

Founded in 1992, by Dave and Travis Boersma, Dutch Bros Coffee started off as a pushcart by railroad tracks in Grant Pass, Oregon. It made its way to El Paso in October 2021.

The drive was almost about 28 minutes from our local area, but we can’t say it wasn’t worth it. Ordering from a window, just like a pushcart, the customer service was satisfactory, being our first time there they remained patient while we looked at their full menu of options.

Fitting for this fall season, we ordered the “Fall Favorite Pumpkin Pie” and the “Fall Favorite Caramel Pumpkin Brûlée Cold Brew with oat milk.” They both tasted differently, one being sweeter than the other, yet still keeping that coffee taste, but both fit our personal preferences.

But aside of their seasonal options, they also count with tea, energy drinks, frozen coffee, hot coffee and a kids menu.  

The setting of the shop was perfect for a quick buy, since we drank our coffees in the parking lot, but not very convenient if you are planning to stay, since there is no inside itself, but the area around is full of stores and restaurants that you can go out and about with your cup of coffee.

Since it is distant to our local area and school, it is unpractical for a coffee run before school in the morning. However, the pricing is more affordable than other coffee places, the primary size advertised is a medium, and the only one priced in the menu.

Based on the location, pricing, menu availability, customer service, and overall experience, we highly recommend our orders. We decided to rate Dutch Bros Coffee a 4 out of 5 coffees.
