The Spartans defeated the Socorro Bulldogs, 10-8, in a dual tennis match at Pebble Hills High School Friday afternoon September 17.

With the victory, Pebble Hills wants to continue and get better as the season continues.

“We want to communicate better,” sophomore Luisa Fernanda Valadez-De Los Santos. “They (Socorro) play really good.”

Valadez-De Los Santos also said there was a lot of preparation going into the match against Socorro as they had lost in preseason action earlier this year.

“Beating Socorro felt so good since I worked at practice to become really good,” senior Michelle Ortiz. “I would spend most of my mornings in practice trying to push myself and working on mistakes so I won’t do it in the game.”

Tennis is back in action as they welcome the visiting Montwood Rams Tuesday Sept. 21.
