The Pebble Hills Spartans varsity volleyball team suffered their second consecutive loss against the Americas Trailblazers Friday night, Sept. 28 at home.

Although the Spartans fought strong in the first set, the Spartans simply could not keep up with the offensive output of the Trailblazers, who managed to score 25 points; winning the set and setting the tone early on.

Senior middle blocker, Triniti Anderson, put forth another impressive performance as she managed to score a majority of the Spartans’ points throughout the night.

“Being the main focus on offense, I like it, but then I don’t, because it’s kind of hard to hit around them but then again it gives me the challenge to try new things and try to go around them,” Anderson said.

The second set though was an entirely different story, it was hard-fought and neck-and-neck as both teams struggled to gain any leverage, but in the end, Americas came out just ahead of the Spartans 25-23.

The third set of the night was as competitive as the previous two but ended in favor of the Spartans, 25-22.

Finally, the fourth set came in favor of the Trailblazers, as they defeated the Spartans 25-22 in the final set of the contest.

Anderson believes that the team has improved and will continue to improve as they have their spirits up for the next contest.

“We looked better this game, we actually came in with more heart, unfortunately, some things didn’t come our way but we still kept going,” Anderson said.

Next up is a little road trip for the Spartans as they head to the west side to take on the Franklin Cougars Tuesday Oct. 2.
