Starting off the festivities of the holiday season, the varsity choir volunteered to spread Christmas cheer to the residents of SunRidge at Cambria located in Far East El Paso.

Members of the choir sang Christmas carols to bring joy not only for those of the retirement facility, but also for children at Socorro Mission Church during Toys for Tots. The annual program consists of gathering toys for children. The United States Marines gathered legos, cars, and other stuff to give to children in need.

Not only did this impact the residents but brought light to the Spartan varsity choir.

“It really brought a smile to my face being able to be there with the elderly people,” junior Amani Porras said. “It was a great experience to sing and see the kids get toys that they probably wouldn’t have had before.”
